Chris...Thanks Rachel for the well wishes and hugs. Christmas was perfect. We were able to Skype with Nate at 8:00 in the morning. It was the perfect way to start our day. Honestly I could of gone to bed right after our conversation and my day would of been complete. Just to hear my kids laugh together and "hang out" was the best gift ever. My parents came at the end of our conversation to visit with Nate and he was able to bare his testimony to them in spanish. They aren't members. They speak spanish but I don't. It was beautiful and they really enjoyed it.

I'm so sorry that the house hunting hasn't been successful. I'll keep you in my prayers that everything works out soon.

Have a great week,
BeckyBecky https://www.blogger.com/profile/14564781133352211731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853181264202350221.post-57668614574234083952013-12-30T19:50:15.299-08:002013-12-30T19:50:15.299-08:00Hi Becky!! Merry Christmas! What a beautiful, pe...Hi Becky!! Merry Christmas! What a beautiful, perfect Christmas it must have been for you to gather around Skype talking with your missionary son. I hope your entire day was just as beautiful.

Thank you so much for sharing your sweet story. I can picture in my mind that sweet man and woman singing along with you. I'm sure that experience will be forever cherished in the hearts of the youth. Every Christmas we sing at a nursing home. This year I would like to do it DURING the year as well in 2014. :-)

Thanks for asking about the house shopping. We visited some today with no luck. The kids said, "This place looks like somebody is going to rob us." (It was in a very sketchy neighborhood.) After more hours than I can calculate searching lots of REALLY small homes covering 3 counties, I just found out today that Florida law states that we HAVE to rent a 4 bedroom house or larger because of the size of our family. We would prefer a 4 bedroom anyway, but that gets trickier on our current budget…. Abe was just laid off for two weeks from his job while they are waiting to start another project. We needed the paycheck from those two weeks! Oh well… I think something GREAT is bound to happen soon with his job search because it usually does when you feel you have been stretched to your limit. I'm doing a lot of praying and hoping… and trying to be patient. :-)

I pray you have a very happy New Year!! God bless you. ~Sending you giant New Year hugs. :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02706979305995851795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853181264202350221.post-64034109642718216612013-12-29T23:12:11.880-08:002013-12-29T23:12:11.880-08:00WOW!!! I am filled with joy for you and your family for all the love that you felt this Christmas by the generosity of others and I can feel the love that you shared with others. It sounds like it was the perfect Christmas.

Our youth had the wonderful opportunity to visit a retirement home this season to sing and share homemade Christmas cards with them. I was brought to tears when one gentleman kept standing up to sing with us even though the nurses kept trying to sit him down. He was so such a beautiful man and I think he touched our hearts more than we did his. We had another resident join us as we walked around singing to those who could not come out of their rooms. She was just so happy to be able to sing. I am so grateful that you and your family were able to experience the love and appreciation that people of the nursing home had for your selfless gift. You continue to amaze me with all that you are teaching your children about service and sharing their talents and gifts with others.

I hope that you have a wonderful 2014. I look forward to hearing more about the many blessings you are able to enjoy.

Happy New Year,
Becky

P.S. How's the house shopping going?Becky https://www.blogger.com/profile/14564781133352211731noreply@blogger.com
